Jeff Stiggs is a portrait photographer based in Toronto, Ontario with an apt ability for capturing his subjects with a certain allure. His introspection gives his images a raw reality that one may not catch at first glance.
Capturing moments for Stiggs started out as just a thing to do around the city and at major Toronto events such as The Scotia Bank Caribbean Carnival using basic point-and-shoot cameras and entry level SLR's. As time went on and with positive feedback from family and friends, he decided to step up to the plate and make photography more than just a thing to do, but a real passion. In 2014, Stiggs was offered the opportunity to debut his craft by working with AfroChic Toronto—an annual cultural art exhibit which highlights the talents of creative engineers from the city of Toronto through poetry, fashion, music and much more—shooting promotional images as well as, the event itself. The positive feedback from this event prompted Jeff to continue his work collaborating with other established and up-coming city professionals.
Moving forward, Stiggs hopes to own a studio space that will solidify the future of his business and provide his customers with a great space to create genuine pieces. In addition, world travel and expanding his expertise in a multitude of areas such as film photography are major goals for this up-and-comer. Jeff hopes that while he continues to seek versatility in his creative endeavors he will also launch a career in photography that is more than just a name, but a brand that continuously redefines the ideals of fine art.
